There is so much to discover in the lagoon beyond the Venice’s central districts. The Venice Lagoon is an ideal destination for a slow and responsible travel experience<\/strong>, on foot, by bicycle or rowing.<\/p>\n

Discover the precious cultural heritage <\/strong>in the smaller islands<\/a><\/strong>, from the best-known ones, such as the Lido of Venice and Burano<\/a><\/strong>, to all the other minor ones, including Lazzaretto Nuovo, Vignole, San Lazzaro degli Armeni and San Francesco del Deserto<\/a><\/strong>, where the most authentic spirit of the lagoon life is still preserved.<\/p>\n

The lagoon islands also host several vegetable gardens where typical local products are grown<\/strong>, alongside vineyards of native wines, suh as Dorona grape<\/strong>. Not to be missed: the vineyards of Mazzorbo<\/a><\/strong> and the orchards of Vignole and Sant\u2019Erasmo.<\/p>\n

On the island of Pellestrina<\/strong><\/a> you can also spend a day aboard a fishing boat<\/a> <\/strong>with the local fishermen. An opportunity to discover the secrets of the production of mussels<\/strong> and also to taste the organic mussels of the lagoon<\/strong>, cooked on board according to traditional recipes.<\/p>\n

Here is an itinerary to discover the Lido and Pellestrina by bicycle<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Also around Burano and Torcello<\/strong> you can enjoy fishing tourism experiences<\/strong><\/a>. From April to October the fishermen of Burano accompany small groups on their boats to discover traditional fishing in the sea and in the lagoon.<\/p>\n
